Gossip & Gists: Popular OAP Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi Kicks Off TV Show

Nigeria’s leading on-air personality and multi-talented presenter Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi has kicked off the recording of her long anticipated TV show.

Although details are still sketchy, her producers announced, today, that work started on the magazine show nearly two years ago with the crew finally moving to set last weekend in Lagos.

Simply called ‘Gbemi’, the show, the award-winning OAP says, seeks to create conversations on different issues and people, from the serious and scary, to the mundane and trivial; while engaging audiences on different platforms across many cities.

‘Our show explores various areas, and is part investigative, part entertaining; going beyond what has been discussed before’, the talker, who spent many years at Cool FM before joining The Beat, Gbemi says.

‘We’re shooting already, working with some of the best hands around, to make sure ‘Gbemi’ is worth the wait’ she added.

The show’s producer Jade Rawa says ‘Gbemi’ will be ready to air ‘in a matter of months, on local networks, cable channels, as well as on mobile and web’.

Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi is currently a director of programmes Naija FM, assistant director of programmes Beat FM, and host of the drive time show of Beat FM 99.9.

 

Gbemi is an alumnus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and The Pan African University in Lagos, where she obtained a B.A. in Communication and Msc in Media and Communication respectively.

The best part of it all was that we managed to remain friends after we parted ways. We see each other often because of our kids and over the years we’ve become quite close. If you see us together you would never guess we were divorced. I never thought exes could be friends but my relationship with mine has proven me wrong. But there’s a problem now. What am I complaining about, you may wonder? Well I was with him for 13 years and gave him four children and he never ever for once took me on a romantic trip abroad. Not once in 13 years.

Just two nights ago, he told me that he’s never loved anyone as much as he loves this woman and is planning to pop the question this valentine.

Gossip & Gists: Rick Ross Crashes Rolls Royce Into Building After Shoot Out

American rapper Rick Ross smashed his Rolls-Royce into an apartment building in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida early this morning while attempting to flee from a drive-by shooting. TMZ is reporting he was the intended target.

According to reports, around 05:00 am Rick Ross and a female companion were leaving a party on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale when a car pulled up along side Rick’s dark colored Rolls and opened fire.

Rick swerved to avoid being hit and crashed into an apartment building at SE 15 Avenue.

Neither Rick nor his passenger were hit. Security cameras at a building across the street from the crash were rolling during the incident and cops are hoping the footage will either reveal the identity of the shooter or at least show the vehicle.
